Tannis was pretty much born in a trunk to actor/director/writer parents. She grew up in NYC working as a child actress in theatre, TV and ﬁlm then moved to Los Angeles where she became a child star on the successful ABC sitcom “Head of the Class.” After graduating from Stanford University, Tannis shifted her focus from acting to behind the scenes where she learned the art of casting from a master – Debra Zane. As an associate CD, Tannis collaborated with some of the most talented directors in the world including Spielberg, Soderbergh, Bill Condon, Sam Mendes and Ridley Scott. As a Casting Director, she cast NBC’s “1600 Penn” with Debra Zane and Shawn Ku’s Indie success, Beautiful Boy, with Ania O’Hare which went on to win the International Critics’ Award at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival. Upcoming releases include the supernatural thriller Friend Request, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for which Tannis did the Los Angeles casting and Dude, Olivia Milch’s directorial debut.
